Read Time: 3 minutesIts a meh kind of a campy horror flick. I honestly expected more of a marriage between Jason Voorhees and Art the Clown, that could've been awesome. Instead, we got a mediocre teenage slasher clown horror coupled with some irrelevant elements.
Read Time: 3 minutesThe Philippou brothers made the world know that "Talk to Me" wasn't a fluke. Music and Cinematography were on point as well and added that deathly dread that fits like a glove with the tone of the film. Because of the success "Bring Her Back" had, anything coming from them would be under my radar. Definitely on my top 10 for 2025 horror films.
Read Time: 4 minutesDay One is a great addition to the "A Quiet Place" franchise. It gave us a more detailed (yet we're still in the dark) insight on where those creatures came from and how the world acted when they first came here. The pacing was a little bit messed up though, but it was still a nice watch.
Read Time: 3 minutesAnyone who grew up watching "Sleeping Beauty" would definitely be interested in a story about Maleficent. It was well-paced, different storyline but they were able to retain that Disney magic. A very good watch for kids and kids at heart.

While the first "Smile" didn't get a better reception, it was great to see that people gave the sequel a chance and it received great reviews. Practical effects was represented very well here and I'm all for it. Highly recommended.
Read Time: 4 minutesThree Extremes is a highly recommended horror anthology, we never see any of these things being made today, at least not at this caliber. It is so much worth your time because it will give you an idea of what these three known Asian directors would bring to the table. It may also open up your options in watching horror films.
Read Time: 3 minutesThis remake was okay., I guess the two main selling points of it was it was a remake of a classic hit (95% on Rotten Tomato), and they got Keanu Reeves to play the part of the alien. Aside from that, the only that gives this one the edge over the classic was the design of Gort (I love giant creatures). Its a good sci-fi movie to watch with popcorns and drinks, but not something you'd talk about afterwards.
Read Time: 3 minutesEven if you're not a Christian, a religious person, or a consistent church-goer (I'm neither of all these), I still urge you to watch Heaven Is for Real. Its definitely not a 10/10, but its worth a one-time watch. Don't worry, it's not as preachy as it sounds and didn't feel like a Christian propaganda movie either.

Read Time: 3 minutesThe Medium begins as a captivating yet slow-burning thriller that eventually transitions into recycled scares and an incredibly underwhelming finish. If you've watched horror films centred around spiritual possession, then you have a good idea of what to expect.

Read Time: 3 minutesThe first horror film of Sam Neill I've had the pleasure of watching was "Event Horizon", though I felt his performance was weak there up until the part when things get crazy. On the other hand, In the Mouth of Madness, he went from insurance investigator, to a cult non-believer, to being insane, and to straight up being mad; he made me a fan of his in the horror genre.
Read Time: 4 minutesMadS was an experience, it felt like a found-footage film yet its not a POV kind, we get to see everything from one camera angle, and everytime they shift to another character, we get to see and feel their experience. MadS was very immersive in a sense that it keeps you on the edge and the realism was there. Great film and highly recommended.
Read Time: 3 minutesThe ending was good, but I would've preferred to see it happen, they went with the "use your imagination" route, not sure if it was as intended or to cut budget. It felt like Purge meets Pumpkinhead kind of a film. Dark Harvest is a good pre-Halloween horror flick to watch, a bit gory, so maybe not with the kids.
Read Time: 3 minutesThe first Hell House LLC was the best among the franchise, when they released the 2nd and 3rd installment, it slowly dwindled down to a bad b-horror at best. Hell House LLC Origins as a prequel installment revived it from the ashes and the success of this one made me look forward to "Hell House: Lineage" more, and I can't wait!
Read Time: 3 minutesIt was honestly a good watch, not at all scary though, its borderline horror, more on psychological thriller if you ask me. Oh carried this film and is its one redeeming factor; and the only reason why I gave it a watch to begin with.
Read Time: 3 minutesWhile Henson successfully delivered an emotionally heavy performance, the rest of the movie's elements were kind of a let down, safe to say that Henson carried this movie. Its a good movie to watch but not for those who are sensitive about topics involving children.
Read Time: 3 minutesAudition has probably one with the least gore scenes, but the way they showed it, the detail and how they shot it, I felt every single one of it going through my skin. It made my skin crawl. One of the most effective horror films, definitely in my top ten.
Read Time: 4 minutesI don't usually like Filipino made movies, but after watching this, it gives me hope and am willing to explore more of what Filipino movies has to offer, specially in terms of the horror genre. This is a well made movie, a bit long in my opinion, and I think if they excluded the Manananggal twist, it probably would've received better reception.
