Introduction

“In Anaconda Cursed Jungle, a struggling circus is lured onto a ship to tour Thailand, but they are attacked by a giant anaconda. Stranded in the rainforest after their ship sinks, they are led by a mysterious man named Jeff, who they discover is a poacher, on a perilous journey where they must fight both the anaconda and the poacher.”

The Usual Party Dynamics

Now I’m not very familiar with any of them as I haven’t been keeping up with modern Chinese films. Though I would say that they had good chemistry overall. It was a nice group that the casting director was able to put up.

As with the 1997 Anaconda, they also have that same party dynamics, the leading woman, opposite to the more s3xualized woman; and the other supporting characters.

Terence Yin (as Jeff, the poacher) was mirroring Jon Voight’s Paul Sarone in Anaconda (1997), but less impressive. Too much brooding in my opinion and very soon became annoying.

Decent Effects

Compared to the original 1997 Anaconda, the CGI effects done here was… I’d say it sufficed, but not nearly as great as the original. Being that the CGI was supposed to be the main star of it, it made the movie tacky, and not scary at all. It was a big letdown for me.

Too Dramatized

Aside from its tacky CGI effects, Anaconda Cursed Jungle relied too much on making it look “cool”. They dramaticized it so muvh that it dulled the horror of it. There was too much unnecessary camera work and it just made it worse.

Smooth Flatline Ride

The story was too predictable and again, it was similar to that of the 1997 american release. Anaconda Cursed Jungle should’ve added another layer to the story. There wasn’t any twists or turns, everything was laid out for you and it sucks.

What I Didn’t Like

  • Tacky CGI effects.
  • The poacher’s character was too similar to that of Anaconda (1997).
  • No twists whatsoever.
  • Unnecessary camera work and motion effects.
