it takes two

It Takes Two: The clashing couple Cody and May are turned into dolls by a magic book. Together, trapped in a fantastical world where the unpredictable hides around every corner, they are reluctantly challenged with saving their fractured relationship.

Introduction

“It Takes Two is a co-op adventure game where Cody and May, a fighting couple on the brink of divorce, are magically turned into dolls by their daughter, Rose, who cries over them in a therapy book called “The Book of Love”.”

Simple yet Engaging Gameplay

If you’re not used to playing split screen co-op game, tough luck! Get used to it or don’t bother playing this game. Controls are fairly simple with detailed instruction if you get new “powers” on certain levels.

The stages are quite many but none of it felt repetitive. It Takes Two keeps all of its obstacles/quests interesting. Its what keeps us coming back to it.

Impactful Storyline

This is strictly a 2-player based game. The story surrounds a small family on the verge of collapse. The story, even with the numerous fun filled mini games involved, revolves around Cody and May’s renewal of their love. The rebirth of the spark that they’ve lost over time. It’s engaging and very relatable.

Out of this World Worlds

Hazelight Studios (award winning studio/developer behind It Takes Two) takes the game from being a simple adventure game, to over the top, out of this world levels. The intricacies of the worlds/levels blew my mind. Even my wife who is not a gamer got wowed by the level of details the game had to offer.

Co-op Madness

The levels in It Takes Two offers countless co-op efforts. Like I said, this game is strictly 2 players, you cannot finish this game alone, hence the title. The level of communication required will really have you talk to your partner on how you’re going to get through it. If you have bad communication, good luck finishing it. You really have to work together because.. well, It Takes Two.

Groovy Music

The music selection was awesome. You’d really get in the mood of what you’re trying to achieve. Whether it be trivial or annoyingly hard, the music lets you sail over it smoothly.
