Genso Suikoden: Star Leap announced for iOS, Android

Konami and MYTHRIL have announced Suikoden STAR LEAP, a new mobile game for iOS and Android. The release date hasn’t been revealed yet, but the game will be free-to-play with optional in-game purchases.

Introduction

This game introduces a new story featuring 108 stars and the power of runes.

Since its debut in Japan in 1995, the Suikoden series has been one of Konami’s most popular RPG franchises, with 11 titles released, including main games and spin-offs.

Suikoden STAR LEAP is a fresh addition to the series and the first game designed specifically for mobile.

The game features stunning pixel art that builds on the series’ classic style, paired with immersive sound effects to create a fresh Suikoden experience. Players will meet and befriend 108 new characters on their journey.

Story:

The Rune of Change is one of the 27 True Runes said to have shaped the world.

The adventure begins in a lakeside village east of the Scarlet Moon Empire. One night, the village chief’s son returns home victorious from his first hunt, and the villagers celebrate with joy and hope. However, their happiness is short-lived when an attack suddenly changes everything.

Determined to restore peace, the hero sets out on a journey with Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur. What starts as a small mission soon grows into a greater destiny.

Characters:

• Hero (voiced by Tomohiro Ono) – The son of the village chief. Kind, brave, and charismatic, he takes on the responsibility of leading his people. 
• Hisui (voiced by Hika Tsukishiro) – A servant in the Hero’s household. She hides her emotions for unknown reasons but is naturally cheerful and kind. 
• Hou (voiced by Akio Otsuka) – The village chief and the Hero’s father. A former warrior who united outcasts to form the village, his past remains a mystery, but he has powerful connections. 
• Shirin (voiced by Fairouz Ai) – The Hero’s childhood friend, raised by her father. Energetic and strong-willed, she has a strong sense of justice but can be impulsive. 
• Shapur (voiced by Takuya Sato) – The Hero’s teacher and the household’s butler. Once a general, his presence in a small village raises questions about his past.
