“Cannibal Ferox: Three friends set out to disprove cannibalism on a trip to the Amazonian jungle, where they meet two men trying to escape a vicious cannibal tribe.”

Introduction
The film is leaning more towards animal cruelty than cannibalism. In my opinion, they use this method to show how edgy their film is, and add some shock value into it, all for the purpose of entertainment.
Good twist
Going in, my thoughts are the civilized people were the victims of cannibalism, but they had a good twist and kept me in the loop until the reveal, after that it instantly became a revenge/horror. I wouldn’t have thought that I’d be rooting for “them” in that scenario.
Gore k1lls
The killings were indeed gory, and the fact that they have limited availability for effects, these looked horrifyingly real. The “brain scene” in Hannibal (2001) was iconic, but they also have one here, though a bit messy compared to Hannibal’s. For me, the animal killings that they showed here were a cover up to their mediocre acting.

Satisfying Ending (spoiler)
Cannibal Ferox’s ending was fair and well deserved, though at first, you’d think that the girl was being selfish and was just trying to gain academic accolades, but the people of the tribe were harmless, until they came along. People often say that Eli Roth’s Green Inferno was inspired by the Cannibal Holocaust. In my opinion, if you compare them, this aligns more with Green Inferno’s story or plot.
More or less the same plot, another cannibal film came out later on titled “Cannibal Holocaust” Which in my opinion was better than Ferox.
Definitely NOT for everyone.
Trigger warning: Animal cruelty
*1/5 considering the immoral acts done during filming.
