“New dimension wings” that redefine SD Gundam! Presenting “Wing Gundam Zero EW” from the high-end MGSD series! The “Wing Binder” combines mobility and beauty, with deployable main wings revealing silver and clear “reflection cut” parts. Secondary wings move in tandem for dynamic poses, including recreating atmospheric entry.
The MGSD series introduces its first variable mechanism, allowing transformation into two “Neo Bird Forms”: “Outer Atmospheric Mode” with folded wings and “Atmospheric Mode” with deployed wings. Each armor part features a deployment gimmick, such as linked movement in the shoulder and skirt sections, exposing detailed silver components. The “Twin Buster Rifle” boasts a barrel extension and joint deployment for improved handling. An innovative frame structure provides smooth movement, with layered camera details enhancing realism.
Articulation of the wings

Head Articulation

Three movable axes are installed in the internal structures of the head and neck enabling a variety of movements, including poses where the head would stick out.
The units on the side of the head open to recreate the Zero System state of activation.
Shoulder Articulation

The shoulder armor features a mechanism where lifting the upper sections causes the lower armor parts to move as well.

The torso incorporates movable axes that allow the abdomen to swing from side to side. Multiple articulation points within the torso also preserve a wide range of motion during forward and backward bending. Additionally, the bases of the front skirt armor extend forward, enabling the skirt panels to lift and enhance the thighs’ range of movement.
Leg Articulation

The knee armor, rear shin armor, and thigh sections are equipped with linked mechanisms that shift and open together as the knees bend. This coordinated movement enables exceptionally smooth knee articulation, exceeding the range and fluidity of previous SD series kits.
Cockpit Mechanism

The MGSD Wing Gundam EW uses a layered, sliding cockpit mechanism that balances MG-style gimmicks with the compact SD proportions.
Here’s how it works:
- The chest armor opens upward, revealing the internal cockpit block beneath.
- The cockpit module slides forward slightly from the torso rather than fully opening outward, which helps preserve the SD silhouette while still showing internal detail.
- Inside, there’s a molded cockpit seat, a hallmark of MG design translated into the SD format.
- The mechanism is integrated into the torso frame, so it doesn’t interfere with torso articulation or stability when opened or closed.
Overall, the cockpit gimmick is more about faithfully recreating MG-level realism in a super-deformed body, prioritizing clean motion and structural integrity over a large, dramatic opening.
Twin Buster Rifle

The Twin Buster Rifles are able to extend and/or combined with each other.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a very intricate build but felt that the MG (Master Grade) or PG (Perfect Grade) lines are to daunting of a build to tackle, the MGSD Wing Gundam EW is the best one I’d recommend. The stickers included are also standard issue stick-on stickers, not the WSD (water slide decal) kind. No paint or customization needed, build straight out of the box and you’re good to go.
